Annette Coon's mom and Dad will be traveling to Plainview from Indiana the middle of October. Because her mom has been very sick but is insisting on coming here for her grandson's birthday, she (as well as the entire family) will certainly be needing our prayers.
Lois White (Candy Waller's mother) is in a hospital in Austin Congestive heart failure. She is gravely ill so Candy and Joe have traveled to Austin
Jo Carol Walker's health. She continues to be in pain because of nerve problems on both sides of her spine. She will be having an MRI this week.
Continue to pray for the Smith family. Blaine's mom will be leaving Prairie House on Friday. She is excited about going home, but will probably be needing some assistance. His aunt, Mary Knoohuizen, will be having a knee replacement some time next week in Amarillo.
Continue to pray for Gus Fernandez - Mario's brother-in-law whose cancer has returned. Because Mario is very close to Gus, he tries to travel to Dallas as much as possible.
Greg and Sara Howle have been trying to get a new visa for the last six months. Because of several obstacles out of their control, they could not mail the application in until two days ago. But, the visa they are on now expires friday at midnight (Australian time). Tomorrow, (Friday 28th of Sept) Sara will go to the immigration office and see if she can get someone to open the letter of application. Once they do that, they will be on a bridging visa. If they do not open it tomorrow, Sara and Greg will be illegal by midnight. Please pray that the people at the immigration office are helpful and that they take the time to open their mail.
Continue to pray for Jennifer Brown, assistant director in Virtual Campus. As most of you know, Jennifer suffered a cardiac arrest on last Friday morning while at work. Her defibrillator implant did its job by functioning normally and saving her life. She did have to have some the defibrillator's lead wires replaced and that was done in Lubbock this week. She did not have to travel to Austin for the surgery.
Bill Steele, Jo Lively's son and David's cousin, has been diagnosed with cancer of the vocal cords. While they are not certain what treatment will be used, the doctors expressed confidence that he has a 90% chance of a recovery. As a result Bill and his wife finally decided to stop smoking. We all need to continue to be in prayer for our entire class. We have members who are going through some very difficult times. So if you do have a copy of our new member's book, please pray for each one--even if you are not sure of their special need.
