Dear Friends,

Fedha Elyas from the Comoros Islands (mother of Daniel & Maureen Coutinho) has been granted asylum in the US. Final approval is pending the results of mandatory investigation of her identity and background by the CIA and FBI. But I’m confident that the background check will clear.

So I thank you all so much for your prayers, support and donations during this time! We have been incredibly overwhelmed by the way you (the Wayland family) and the Plainview community as a whole have responded.

Update

Rachel's mom is doing better. They have her on some medication and are going to start physical therapy. Her back is in such bad shape that surgery is not going to help, but they think there are some things they can do with medication that may improve it a lot. She is at UMC.

Randy's mom got some bad news this week. They are re-starting chemo and radiation. They finally did a new MRI and the news is all bad. She will continue physical therapy for two more weeks, then will get to come home regardless of her progress. They haven't told her how long she has, but its not long. Pray for Randy and his dad and brother.

Butch Whisenant (Kayla's sister's father-in-law) has been diagnosed with cancer in his neck and back. He is waiting for an appointment at M.D. Anderson.

Next Sunday will be a great breakfast . If you would like to help contact Rick or Joey.

Congratulations to Candy Waller who passed the GRE despite her math anxiety!

Please add Rachel's mom and dad to the prayer list. Cathy had to be taken to the ER in Andrews on Saturday because her back had locked and she was in a ton of pain and could not move. Alvin had to call 911 to give move her. She has been in the hospital there and apparently the care she has been receiving has not been that great since they have no one trained to care for a condition such as the one she has. Rachel has left for Andrews to help out Alvin prepare to have Cathy moved to a hospital in Lubbock and be seen by a Back and Cerebral Palsy specialist there. Hopefully she will been transfered by the end of the week

Dianne had her knee replacement monday at covenant hospital - plainview. She is having a lot of prolems with pain control. She is in room 221

Jetta Jackson - Pray that she will continue to improve with physical therapy and that she will get to come home soon.

Tim Eaves has applied to Homeland Security and is waiting on the government to process his employment application.

Jonathan Eaves has a major Latin exam friday October 20, 2006. Please pray for continued understanding.

Anthony Wilbanks - situation in North Korea and his search for a new job in Seoul South Korea.

David is needing us to come up with questions we always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask about the Bible.

Prayer Request

Zuigia is getting very close to the deadline for their visa renewals and just found out that someone they were counting on for help has not been helping.

Jonathan Eaves - student at Texas Tech - is taking Latin, etc. Needs understanding in this class.

Beverly Kimbrough - surgery at M. D. Anderson Hospital

PHS - Students and Staff - for wisdom, discernment. ( God blessed us with his protection this past week. We pray daily for this to continue.)

Cory Kirk (Bill and Judy Davis' son-in-law) deployed this week to Iraq - pray for his safety and all Armed Forces plus Cori Davis Kirk ( his wife)

Leda Delung is going through radiation for breast cancer (she already had surgery and chemo)

Bruce Williams (brother-in-law of Tom Ray) is going through a divorce. Tom Ray's mother, Jeanne Ray, health issues.

Prayer Request

Pray for Tom Ray's brother-in-law, Bruce williams, as he is going through a divorce.

Continue to pray for Randy Jackson's mother, Jetta Jackson. She is hoping to get out of the hospital in 4-6 weeks.

Brandon Ellis a student at Wayland lost his Grandfather. He was very very close and took it hard.

Mary Feril a WBU student whose Grandmother died and Mary will not be able to spend much time with her family.

Next weeks assignment is to read and study Daniel chapters 3-6

David would like for us to write down questions about the Bible that we always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask.

Keep Charlotte White in your prayers. She is home and anxious to go back to work. She still has more treatment ahead.
