March 27-31st

We need to remember the Bill Hardage family and the Wayland community in this huge loss. This was a surprise and a shock that has effected many people.

Tom Ray's son-in-law, Rich Jolly, is taking his state medical board exam Tuesday, March 28.

Ester started her chemo last week. She was told that one of the meds that they gave her would make her feel like she has the flu. Sure enough, that is what she is feeling like. She has not been able to come back to work yet.

Tom and Debra Sherley's daughter-in-law, Angie Sherley, has Grave's disease and became pregnant when she was still under the influence of the radiation treatment. Pray that the baby will not be negatively affected by the treatment.

Cary Catherine Eaves will be traveling home this weekend. Please pray for traveling mercies.

Doris McDonald's step mom, had a CAT scan done on the 16th. It showed that she had a hematoma in her chest cavity and her platelets were only 2,000. They gave her platelets and a different steroid (to help kill the shingles). Her platelets have held up to around 80,000 for a week. She is feeling much better now. She wants everyone in our class to know that she appreciates your prayers so much – and so does Doris!!

Pray for D'Now students, leaders, host homes, and everyone who is providing food for this coming weekend.

Pray for continued improvement for David Evans.

Pray for Relay for Life event and Howle class fundraiser on Sun., April 30th in LA after evening service.

We needs to continue to pray for the Ward's son, Edwin. He says he is getting much better both mentally and physically. He felt that it is due to everyone praying for him. He said he received a card and a greeting card that really lifted him up from people in our class.

Scholarships for Disciple Now

What is DiscipleNOW?
"It is an opportunity for students to take a break from the routine and check out their life from a new and fresh perspective. Each student will spend an entire weekend in the home of a church member with about 15 other friends. Leaders will guide the students in discussions about the Bible and how it relates to life by using this year's theme. Students can count on a whole lot of fun, new friendships and a weekend that could change their lives forever! "

I stole that from another church's website, but I figure this must be true for our church as well! Ha! Our class is going to be collecting money for scholarships for the Disciple Now weekend. The cost is $45 per kid and the money will go to families with limited financial means.

Bring your bucks to Sunday School this week and help us fund some scholarships. (Hey, its certainly easier than having 15 teenagers stay at your house for an entire weekend, right?)

By the way, they still need host homes. Call Scott or Linda at the church office if you can help out.

March 16, 2006

Barbara, Doris McDonald's stepmom has had the shingles for two weeks and her platelet count is still low. Please continue to pray for healing and relief. They are discouraged and worn out. Doris told her that our Sunday school class was praying for them and she thanks you so much.

Alga Quintana ask that we pray for the Lopez family from Hale Center. They lost their 16 year old daughter in a car accident last Thursday.

Joyce's Uncle Joe has eye problems.

Jonathan Eaves is sick.

Edwin Ward (Larry and Dianne's son) need prayer for his mental health and spiritual healing. Also pray that he has a successful physical healing from his back surgery. Cards would be a great way to lift this young man up!: Edwin Ward, 3010 Nasa Road 1 #1207, Seabrook, TX 77586

Please pray for Stephanie Ramos, the granddaughter of Betty Gonzales

Remember Ester in prayer. Her chemo will begin somewhere around 3/24

Continue to lift David Evans up in your prayers. Also lift up Linda, his parents, the doctors and nurses and everyone that comes into contact with him. This family desperately needs our prayers, love and cards.

The fires are still burning in the Texas Panhandle and now in parts of Oklahoma. Other agencies have began to come in to help.

We have alot of stuff for this week!

Prayers and Praise

Judy Davis' parents, Bill and Betty Reed got changed to the VA Nursing Home. It is a much better place and it is cheaper! They seem to be well taken care of and are very happy.

Joey and Charlotte have finally gotten moved.

Doris McDonald received her results and there is no evidence of thyroid cancer!!

Ester still needs out prayers. She has decided that she will take the chemo treatments. She thinks that she will start around March 24th. She is back at work part time. (That makes me and Rachel very happy!)!

David Evans is still in the hospital. He is at Lakeside in Lubbock. The Cardiac ICU unit. #F881. He is in alot of pain. Please hold him up in prayer. Linda also needs out special prayers as she goes through this with him.

Discipleship Now will be coming up soon. Let's pray for the young people that will be involved with this project. The people working the project and those housing students also need our special prayers.

David Evans

We have an urgent prayer request for David Evans. He is in ICU and has double pneumonia; Linda has to fly to Chicago because of some health problems with their daughter.
